Rentals - Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much does it cost to rent?
Check out the Rates and Terms page for the day rate and discounted weekly rate.
2. Who pays for delivery?
We pay to have the camera delivered anywhere in Australia via Express Post.
3. When does the rental period start and finish?
Delivered: The rental period starts from the day the camera arrives at the address you supply (if you are not home it will be held at your local post office and it is your responsibility to collect it). The hire period finishes when Launch receives the returned camera minus one day (ie camera received on Wednesday will be charged up to and including Tuesday).
Pick Up / Drop off: The hire period starts the day you pick the camera up. The hire period finishes on the day you return the camera.
4. Can I pick it up and drop it off?
Yes you can.
5. What is included?
We give you the full VIO POV1.5 kit (minus a few consumable items). We also put an 8GB SD card in the camera. All you need to supply is the AA batteries. We can also supply extra/special mounts if you need them.
6. What do I have to supply?
You just need to supply the AA batteries (runs on 4xAAs).
7. Can I rent other helmet cameras you sell on your site? Why not?
No, we only hire out the VIO POV1.5 because it is the easiest helmet cam to use and the most robust and reliable. It's the only camera that has proven to last under continual rental use.
8. I'd like the option to purchase the camera at the end of the rental period. Is this possible?
Yes, we will credit 80% of your rental charge to the cost of a new VIO POV1.5.
9. How should I send it back?
We highly recommend you send the camera back via Express Post Platinum (or another overnight service). A 3kg Express Post Platinum satchel will cost about $16 and is a lot cheaper than paying for an extra day. Do not send it back via Registered Post, this service can take up to a week!
10. What happens if I damage or lose the camera?
Items that have been lost or damaged will be charged to you at retail minus 20%. The VIO POV1.5 is a very rugged unit and it is highly unlikely that you will break it unless you have a serious crash or abuse it.
11. I want to hire one now - how do I do it?
Contact us via email or phone. We'll discuss your application with you to make sure you get the best mounts and capture the footage you want.
