The GoPro HD Motorsports Hero helmet camera is designed around a waterproof housing (rated to 60 meters) that all the GoPro mounts connect to. The waterproof housing is designed to take a beating and will protect the camera in the toughest environments. If you scratch the housing you can get replacement lens covers.

The button on the top of the housing is for stopping/starting recording and the one of the front is for turning the camera on/off (these buttons are also used for navigating the menu). Pressing the buttons with gloves on can be difficult and the beeps to let you know if you are recording or not can be hard to hear if you have a helmet on, however the red light on the front and the LCD display flash when you are recording, so you can get someone to check if you are recording without having to take your helmet off.

You can connect the GoPro HD Motorsports Hero to your computer to download clips and recharge the battery by taking the camera out of the waterproof case and using the USB port on the side of the camera. You can also connect the GoPro HD Motorsports Hero to a standard or HD TV for playback using the other ports on the side of the camera (although there is no fast forward or rewind controls during playback).
