Yes, it shoots in 16:9 (widescreen).

5. Is a wide angle or telphoto lens available?

The Drift Innovation HD170 has a super wide angle 170 degree field of view. This makes the video very smooth to watch, however there is some warping (fish-eye) of the image and it does make things look further away than they actually are. There isn't any alternative lens options available for the HD170.

6. Is the Drift Innovation HD170 waterproof?

Yes, the Drift Innovation HD170 is waterproof and is rated to 0.5 meters.

7. What format does the Drift Innovation HD170 record in?

Videos are saved as .mov using H.264 compression.

8. Does the Drift Innovation HD170 record audio?

Yes, the Drift Innovation HD170 records audio and you can adjust the sensitivity of the microphone. You can also plug in an external microphone.

9. Can I watch my videos back from the Drift Innovation HD170?

Yes, you can watch your clips back on the screen of the Drift Innovation HD170 or you can connect the HD170 directly to your TV and play them on your TV. Alternatively, you can connect the HD170 to your computer and download the clips to watch/edit on your computer.

11. What are the mounts like?

The helmet mount is very stable, especially when used in conjunction with 3M Dual Lock (instead of normal velcro). The base of the camera has a 1/4" female receptacle so that the camera can be used with mounts such as the XXL Roll Bar Mount and the Power Suction Cup Mount.

12. How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Express shipping is included free of charge. Orders are normally sent the same day they are received (before 2pm EST) and take 1-3 days, depending on your location, allow extra for remote areas.

13. How do I charge my HD170 Lithium Battery?

The HD170 lithium battery is designed to be charged inside the camera. When a power source (wall plug, car charger (not included) or usb cable) is connected to the camera, the camera will immediately power up. While the camera is powered up the battery is not charging. Power down the unit by holding the select (on/off) button for about 3 seconds. The screen will power down, and the LED on the select button will turn blue. The camera is now charging.
