The extra wide 170 degree lens allows you to put the helmet cam in close to the action and still see what it going on. The wide angle lens will also make your helmet cam footage look smooth in the roughest conditions. Because the camera catches such a wide field of view it doesn't matter if you have it set-up a bit too high or low - the trade off being that it does make things look further away than they actually are.
