Launch Helmet Cams has history in the Point of View Camera industry.  We are the oldest surviving action camera company in Australia, and are still, at our core, just a bunch of guys that love playing action sports and are vain enough to want to see it again on film. As we've found out, we aren't uncommon, as people from all walks of life have come to us for a POV solution to capture their fun (or their work!) so they can watch it back, again and again. 

Times have changed though, the days of wearing a backpack to carry your analogue helmet cam setup have long gone, for favour of sleek and rugged self contained units like Drifts, GoPros and Contours. If you remember what the old analogue cams were like to carry, then you wouldn't believe that FMX Legend Cam Sinclair wore one, with a boom  (modified golf club!) hanging off his helmet and backflipped, with all his combos, 30 plus times!

Check out the short profiles of our guys below.  They all participate regularly in multiple action sports, all love filming their exploits, and are all just a little bit tech-nerd. They are the ones that will answer your questions at our store in Midland, WA. 

Markland O'Connell - CoFounder and Manager 
Markland grew up riding dirt bikes on the family farm in South West WA, and wake boarding at the local lake. He still rides Motocross, and has also since discovered mountain biking, hitting up both downhil and cross country trails.  Markland is a trained scientist, but prefers to play with helmet cams.  

Mike Daws - Sales, Purchasing and IT
Mike is an avid mountain biker, having just won the 'Expert' class of the Western Australian State XC series (3 rounds before the series finished!) and also competed in the BC bike race in Canada.  He rock climbs regularly, road cycles, he also tries his hand (and destroys his ankles) at skate and snow boarding.  He's a software engineer by trade, but helmet cams were more fun. 

Drew Moulin - Sales and Online Marketing 
Where to start for Drew?  Here's the list: Mountain biking, Motocross, Kite surfing, Surfing, 4x4, Road cycling, Rock Climbing, Kayaking - probably missed some too!  He tries to do them all in the same week, sleep is for the weak.  He come from an Environmental Science background but was born to work in the actionsports industry. His occasionally green hair gives that away.

Matt Fitzhardinge - CoFounder and Manger of our Canadian office
Matt moved to Vancouver, BC a few years back to be with his Canadian girlfriend.  He lives on the North Shore with and rides the best mountain bike trails in the world regularly during summer, then hits up the best snow in winter.  He gets on a dirt bike when he can and also gets out hiking, kayaking and camping in the amazing Canadian wilderness.  Matt is a mechanical engineer by trade but his dreadlocks didn't really fit in at the office.
